Vehicles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police mentioned they were contacted by a individual who discovered a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Around 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state preliminary tests indicate the substance was likely human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; officials are not yet informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to solve the incident" and have asked to the public for information.

A senior political figure commented the attack rendered him without words and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This incident hits the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist attack five years ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on people of foreign heritage in February 2020.
